Wilfred Horace Sampson Jr.
NORTHBOROUGH/FRAMINGHAM
Wilfred H. Sampson Jr., 88, formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at home. He was born in Newton, MA on the 4th of July, 1929. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Esther (who passed away just three months prior), parents Wilfred Sr. & Helen (LeBlanc), brothers Herman and James, and infant son, Dana.
Wilfred graduated from Our Lady’s Help of Christians in Newton, MA and earned an engineering degree from Northeastern University. He was employed by General Motors for over 20 years. Wilfred was extremely proud to have served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Sampson was an avid golfer and Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida, a good cigar, and joking with his large family. He had a humorous outlook on life.
Wilfred is survived by his son David Sampson and his wife Juliette of Northborough, MA, his son Donald Sampson and his wife Lisa of Newton, MA, his daughter Diane Roberts of Hopedale, MA, his daughter Donna Chase and her husband Gary of Hopedale, MA, his son Daniel Sampson and his wife Karen of Tampa, FL, his daughter Denise Eckstrom and her husband Joseph of Scituate, MA, his son Douglas Sampson of Tampa, FL, his daughter Deirdra Sampson of Hopkinton, MA, his daughter Dara Howorth and her husband Nicholas of Northborough, MA, his daughter Doreen Sampson of Marlborough, MA, his daughter Deana Kadra and her husband Mark of North Oxford, MA, and all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Theresa Jasset and Rita Abel as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joined now in eternity with his wife, they are forever watching over their loved ones.
There will be no calling hours. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10 A.M. in St Rose of Lima Parish, 244 West Main St. Northborough. Wilfred will be laid to rest with military honors in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brookhaven Hospice.
