Obituary for Robert M. Flint

Robert M.  Flint
Northborough - Robert M. Flint, 90, formerly of Northborough, died December 17, 2016 at D’Youville of Lowell, after an extended illness. His wife Margaret C. (McKechnie) died in 2001. He leaves his daughters, Susan Lovett of Chelmsford; Janet Lanteigne and her husband Peter of Athol; four grandchildren, Joseph Boyd, Jeffrey Boyd, Christopher Lovett and his wife Lisa, Katherine Lovett; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Boyd, Trinity Boyd, Landon Megarry, Ojahana Boyd, King Boyd, Rose Lovett and William Lovett; nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his brother Alfred Flint Jr., his sister Dorothy parent, and his son-in-law David Lovett. Born and raised in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Alfred and Grace (McDougall) Flint. Bob graduated from Marlborough High School in 1944 and attended Wentworth Institute in Boston. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. Mr. Flint spent his career as a mechanical engineer at Raytheon Corp. for 20 years. He later owned and operated Central Quarters Antique Store in Hudson for many years. Mr. Flint lived in Northborough for 10 years and moved to Sterling and most recently to Chelmsford. He loved camping, yard sales, refurbishing/refinishing furniture, and spending time at the ocean. Most of all, he lived for his family.
Bob’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St. Northborough. A calling hour will be held at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough, prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial with military honors will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Marlborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation by calling 866-232-8484.
