Obituary for Richard L. Hodge

Richard L. Hodge
Westborough/Northborough
Richard Leroy Hodge, 72, passed away on March 28th after a 31 year battle with heart disease. His five grandchildren Nicholas, Andrew, Cassie, Brady and Taylor were the center of his universe. Their Papa loved going to as many of their sporting events as possible. Going to six different games every weekend was his idea of having a great time and his grandchildren knew it. Dick’s sons Michael (wife Lisa) and Christopher (wife Pamela) were his business partners as well as his best friends. Nothing made him as happy as spending time with them. Dick was born July 12, 1945 in Oneida, N.Y. His parents were LeRoy Hodge and Aleta Hodge. Brothers Fred, LeRoy, Steven, Thomas and sisters Carol Riggall and Linda O’Neill are scattered all over the country, but still kept close ties with each other. Special friends Denise Batchelder, Brian Huggins, Sherie Koopersmith and Dr. Matthew Bean shared a special place in his heart. But no one was as dear to him as his wife, Marie. They shared good times as well as bad and were stronger in their love and devotion to each other because of these times.
A “Celebration of Life” in the memory of Dick will be held on Saturday, April 7th at 1:00PM at the Highfields Golf and Country Club, 42 Magill Drive, Grafton, MA. Reception to follow. The family requests that you omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Richard Hodge to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241. Online condolences may be posted at: www.haysfuneralhome.com.
