Edwin J. Bradt, 84, passed away on March 29, 2018, at Marlborough Hills Nursing Health Care after a period of declining health. His devoted wife of 54 years, MaryAnne (Holligan) Bradt died in 2012. He leaves behind his loving children, Sara Levesque of Marlborough; Karen Loura of Sandwich; Greg & Theresa (Alves) Bradt of Holden; Scott Bradt of Cohasset; Edwin J. Bradt of Attleboro and Kati & Bryan Williams of Mendon; his brother David Bradt and wife Marion of CT; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews. Ed was born in Albany, New York and lived there for 28 years. Ed and MaryAnne moved to Northborough in 1971 where they raised their family. Mr. Bradt worked in the retail clothing/shoe industry with Thom McCann, Chess King, and Klozmania for many years. At the height of his career, he held the position of Manager of Distribution Center for Chess King in Worcester. He also worked for BJ's until retiring in 2011. Mr. Bradt proudly served his country during the Korean War. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, reading and traveling. In recent years, he enjoyed oil painting and spending time with his family. He was an avid New England Sports fan.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. The funeral will take place on Wednesday April 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Rice Memorial Baptist Church, 85 Lincoln Street, Northborough. Ed will be laid to rest beside MaryAnne in Howard Street Cemetery.
